The Centre for Academic English runs intensive preparatory English language and study courses for prospective students of the College throughout the summer. The courses are STEM-focused and run  for 12, 6 or 3 weeks. They are designed to improve students' academic English language and literacy and to help students make a smooth transition into academic study in the UK and enhance their experience as a student at Imperial. All three courses are full-time, with classes and activities from 09.30-17.00 Mondays-Fridays as well as some evening and weekend social events and trips. The 12- and 6-week courses are open to postgraduates and are for applicants who have not quite met the English language entry condition of their offer.
